FTTH Footpath Demarcation / Toby Box
Our FTTH Footpath Demarcation (Toby) Boxes provide a secure, durable, and clearly identifiable access point for fiber optic connections at the curbside or footpath. Engineered for FTTx deployments, these boxes mark the transition point between the public fiber network and the customer premises, enabling easy maintenance, efficient troubleshooting, and future scalability.
The Toby Box can house a sealed microduct end, ready for future fiber blowing from the distribution cabinet to the home, or contain an IP65/IP68-rated splice enclosure for terminating drop cables directly on site.
Application Guidance
The Toby Box should be installed:
- As close as possible to the customer boundary or pin kerb to minimize future digging
- With appropriate backfill materials and in accordance with local installation standards
- With the lid opening toward the customer’s property for ease of access
- Centrally, where feasible, to serve two homes via dual microducts
- With each microduct sealed using an end cap to protect against ingress
- With the integrated metal disc in the lid for traceability, even after resurfacing
